Estimator - Commercial & Industrial Construction

Bristol & South West | Permanent | Main Contractor

Salary - 50-65k + package

We're working with a well-established contractor seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects across commercial offices, industrial builds, refurbishments, and data centres, typically valued between 3m - 40m+.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse project plans and specs to create detailed cost proposals
• Lead competitive tenders, pricing materials, labour, and plant
• Develop and maintain a high-performing supply chain
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering strategies
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, ITTs, and PQQs
• Liaise with clients to clarify project scope and expectations
• Prepare and present bids, attend interviews, and handle clarifications
• Collaborate with bid writing, commercial, and delivery teams
• Stay current with market trends, inflation, and cost forecasting
• Support strong project delivery through pre-construction insight

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience in a similar Estimating role within construction
• Background in commercial/industrial new-build and fit-out projects (preferred but not essential)
• Comfortable managing tenders from 3m - 40m+
• Industry-recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Familiarity with NEC3, NEC4, and JCT 2016 contract suites
• Confident using digital estimating tools and software
