Technical Director - Planning, Design & Environmental Consultancy
Location: Bristol | Type: Permanent, hybrid

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Director to join a multidisciplinary planning, design and environmental consultancy in Bristol. This Technical Director role is a senior leadership appointment, responsible for technical governance, project delivery and team leadership across a diverse portfolio of UK development projects.

The successful Technical Director will provide expert technical oversight, ensuring high standards across planninge-led workstreams. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Technical Director, or an Associate Director ready to step up, to play a key role in a growing regional office.

Key Responsibilities
·Lead and oversee technical delivery on complex, multi-disciplinary projects as Technical Director
·Act as technical authority and point of escalation across project teams
·Ensure compliance with UK planning policy, environmental legislation and best practice
·Support bids, fee proposals and client relationship management
·Mentor, manage and develop senior and mid-level staff
·Contribute to business planning and growth of the Bristol office

Candidate Requirements
·Demonstrable experience at Director level within a UK consultancy
·Proven track record of delivering technically complex projects through the UK planning system
·Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing technical risk
·Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills
·RTPI Chartered status
