We are looking for an open-minded, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant for Complex Needs to join a welcoming specialist school in North Bristol/ South Glos. This long-term role is ideal for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to students who need consistent, patient and personalised support every day. Access to a car would be advantagious.
As a Teaching Assistant for Complex Needs, you’ll be working with children and young people who have a wide range of additional needs, which may include autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, sensory processing differences and challenging behaviours linked to complex backgrounds. No two days will ever be the same, and the right person will find the role incredibly rewarding.

• Has resilience and confidence when supporting students with high levels of need
• Understands how to support communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation
• Can build trusting, consistent relationships with pupils who need stability
• Works well with teachers, therapists and other support staff
• Is able to stay positive, even when faced with challenging behaviours
• Can break down learning tasks and offer pupils the personalised support they need
• Shows strong safeguarding awareness and professionalism at all times
• Wants a long-term role where they can make lasting progress with their students

• Supporting students with complex needs across different age groups
• 1:1 support, small group sessions and classroom assistance
