Placements and Commissioning Team Manager
Location: North Somerset, United Kingdom, BS23 1UJ
Start Date: ASAP     
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 42.95 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Determine and secure the right number of SEND school places.

  • Ensure quality and value for money in SEND placements.

  • Monitor and manage contracts to meet outcomes for children.

  • Collaborate with key agencies for joint service commissioning.

  • Forecast demand and provide local SEND places.

  • Negotiate fees and contract terms.

  • Support appropriate placements in mainstream and SEND settings.

  • Write reports to track and evaluate SEND placements.

  • Attend meetings to plan and discuss new placements.

  • Promote professional development and continuous learning.

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Data Protection, and Equal Opportunities.

  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Person Specifications
Must Have

  • Degree or equivalent in commissioning or procurement management.

  • Understanding of education laws and SEND Code of Practice.

  • Experience in contracts and commissioning in local government.

  • Strong communication and partnership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a local government context.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing strategic partnerships.

  • Ability to co-create strategies with parents and partners.

  • Knowledge of financial responsibilities and High Needs Funding.

  • Skills in data analysis and reporting.
