Role overview

Being able to provide consistent data that describes the capability of the Radio Access Network (RAN) is critically important to all our customers. It's so important to get the complex nature of the radio network simplified to explain network status, availability and need for change to both technical and non-technical people, more so than ever before with the need to design and deliver the system feeds reporting for RAN coverage, resilience and change data.

You will be responsible for the design and delivery of the data feeds, automation, analytics and reporting solutions that have a focus on RAN Release and Change Management and ESN tools. You will have a direct impact upon:-

  • Solution Design for the exchange of RAN operational and resilience data to support the day to day planning decisions for ESN users .
  • RAN Tools enhancements and evolutions, within our partners, to meet ESN requirements.
  • Creation and publishing high level OSS solution designs focusing on positive customer experience through pre and post change validation (Consumer and ESN).

What you'll be doing - your accountabilities

  • Collaborate closely with RAN OSS design authorities to co-create and deliver solutions that align with the requirements outlined in the ESN contract.
  • Develop a strong understanding of change control processes and how OSS designs can support and validate transitions before and after implementation.
  • Partner with internal teams to design and deliver seamless data exchange solutions to visualisation platforms - such as coverage portals - that incorporate network resilience and location-based insights.
  • Create clear and comprehensive documentation of data flows and solution designs, ensuring they are traceable, auditable, and easy to maintain.
  • Ensure all systems introduced are respectful of privacy and security standards, fully adhering to GDPR and internal security policies.
  • Provide supportive guidance to a matrix (virtual) team of technical experts, helping them deliver network design solutions and offering thoughtful technical advice to a wider team, including internal colleagues and supplier partners.

The skills you'll need to succeed

  • A good understanding of Operational Support Systems and Business Support Systems, especially in Mobile
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and specifically Change and Release Management
  • Expertise in BMC Remedy or similar ticketing software
  • Experience with integrating data from external sources into internal platforms, including ETL pipelines and API-based data exchange
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and reliable OSS architectures that support Release and Change Management workflows
  • Familiarity with RAN, transmission technologies, and telecom protocols (2G/4G/5G/NB-IoT).
  • Proficiency in SQL and database design to support structured data flows and reporting
  • Skills in Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages for automation and data manipulation
