Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solution Architect to join a leading defence and security organisation, supporting a major programme within the Maritime Engineering and Logistics domain. This role is focused on designing and delivering innovative solutions for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), contributing to mission-critical systems and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve system architecture for Maritime programmes, ensuring alignment with user needs and system requirements.
  • Integrate Maritime Systems architecture with broader enterprise architecture across the programme.
  • Conduct design impact assessments and trade-off analyses.
  • Maintain and present design baselines at solution coherence reviews.
  • Support the development of system verification and user validation test plans.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of MOD maintenance, equipment, and engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with MOD standards including DEFSTAN and JSP.
  • Experience in cloud architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency with enterprise architecture modelling tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Mega, iServer).
  • Knowledge of MOD Secure by Design principles.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a matrixed organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience in consultancy approaches and delivery methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, DevOps).
