Shift Time: 07:00am-16:00pm Monday-Thursday, 07:00am-12:00pm Fridays

Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, fitting, and testing of aircraft components, ensuring they meet strict aerospace specifications and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, fit, and install mechanical parts and subassemblies according to technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform mechanical inspections and functional testing of assembled components.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools with precision.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure components meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Follow strict health, safety, and quality assurance procedures, including aerospace-specific regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, quality inspectors, and production supervisors to ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges), and fitting techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 is desirable.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering or fitting qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship) is preferred. However, not essential.
