Shift Time: 07:00am-16:00pm Monday-Thursday, 07:00am-12:00pm Fridays

Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, fitting, and testing of aircraft components, ensuring they meet strict aerospace specifications and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, fit, and install mechanical parts and subassemblies according to technical drawings and work instructions.
Perform mechanical inspections and functional testing of assembled components.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools with precision.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure components meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
Follow strict health, safety, and quality assurance procedures, including aerospace-specific regulations.
Work collaboratively with engineers, quality inspectors, and production supervisors to ensure timely delivery of components.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges), and fitting techniques.
Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 is desirable.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant mechanical engineering or fitting qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship) is preferred. However, not essential.
