PURPOSE OF ROLE

Our client is seeking a talented insurance professional to support the growth and development of their Property, Liability and Combined portfolio across South West and Wales. This is a key opportunity to join a small high-performing team with exposure to both national and independent brokers and a varied book ranging from £5k-£250k GWP.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Underwrite renewal business across property, liability and combined classes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key broker partners across the region
  • Deliver profitable growth in line with business objectives
  • Provide technical support to junior team members and contribute to best practice standards

DAY TO DAY

  • Assess risk and negotiate terms on new and existing accounts
  • Conduct regular broker visits across South West and Wales
  • Collaborate with both the senior management team and the wider team to support regional strategy

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience underwriting Property & Casualty risks
  • Previous exposure to both national and independent brokers
  • Open to Senior Property & Casualty underwriters or strong underwriter-level candidates

SKILLS

  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial acumen and market awareness
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a small collaborative team
  • Technically sound underwriting judgement
