Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Location: Bristol and Surrounding Areas, South West
Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (Office-based post-probation with flexible home working options)


About the Role
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Negligence Lawyer to join a top-ranked team in the heart of Bristol. This well-established department handles a broad range of high-value and sensitive claims, providing crucial support to clients navigating some of the most difficult periods in their lives.

The successful candidate will manage a complex and rewarding caseload of pre-action and litigated claims, as well as assist senior colleagues on high-profile matters. This role offers a well-resourced and collaborative working environment with clear pathways for career development and progression.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Running a varied caseload of clinical negligence matters from instruction to resolution
  • Drafting legal documents, including claim forms, pleadings, and witness statements
  • Attending case management conferences and hearings, or instructing Counsel as needed
  • Liaising with medical experts, barristers, and third-party funders
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant pre-action protocols and funding arrangements
  • Maintaining accurate case records and supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
  • Upholding the firms values and contributing to a supportive team culture


To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor or FCILEx with experience in claimant clinical negligence work
  • Have strong technical knowledge and a proven ability to manage your own caseload
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
  • Be confident working independently and collaboratively
  • Ideally be Law Society Clinical Negligence Accredited or an AvMA panel member (or willing to work toward this)
  • Be IT proficient with experience using modern case management systems
