Field Service Engineer - South-West - £38,000 DoE

The Company

Oscar Technology has partnered with a leading technology solutions provider to recruit for a Field Service Engineer to join their team, delivering and supporting advanced security and surveillance systems across the UK.

This is an interesting role as you will be dealing with high-security, critical infrastructure and public sector clients offering installation and maintenance services for integrated control systems.

SC & NPPV2 Clearance is required for this position. Candidates must be eligible to obtain these clearances.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

  • Travelling across the Southwest area (predominantly Bristol, Cheltenham and Swindon) to maintain and service large-scale/enterprise level CCTV, Access Control, and Perimeter Detection systems.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical faults on-site, including both analogue and IP-based security setups.
  • Performing routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and supporting reactive service callouts.
  • Working with a remote support team and escalating complex issues when required.
  • Completing all documentation, reports, and updates via the service helpdesk.
  • Occasional overnight stays depending on site requirements (fully expensed).
  • Adhering to health and safety protocols and maintaining a professional image on-site.

What The Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar field-based service or installation role.
  • Hands-on experience with CCTV, Access Control, and IT-based security systems.
  • Strong enterprise knowledge with C-Cure Access Control, Gallagher Access Control & Synergy CCTV.
  • Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and stay away from home when needed.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Eligibility for to undergo SC and NPPV2 clearance. The company will pay for this process.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with video management systems, firewalls, and IP networking.
  • Basic understanding of GUI platforms and alarm integration (e.g., Galaxy, Cortech).
  • Raid Recording
