Job Title: Component Stores Supervisor

Location: Bristol

Salary: £30,000 - £32,500

Overview:We are looking for a proactive Component Stores Supervisor to join a growing SME manufacturing business undergoing a period of transition. This role offers the opportunity to step into a leadership position within a team of experienced supervisors and apprentices. As the Component Stores Supervisor, you will oversee the component stores and warehouse functions, including laser marking, picking, and fulfilment, while implementing structured processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team overseeing the day-to-day operations of the component stores and warehouse, ensuring efficient stock management, order picking, laser marking, and fulfilment.

  • Develop and implement structured processes to improve operational efficiency and create consistency in warehouse functions.

  • Support the implementation of safe working practices and maintain high standards of health and safety within the warehouse and stores.

  • Mentor and coach a diverse team, including long-serving employees and recently graduated apprentices, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

  • Navigate internal relationships, working closely with other department supervisors, including assembly, dispatch, and materials, to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.

  • Influence and guide the team through the company's transition towards a more structured and formalised operational model.

  • Ensure the team adheres to quality control standards and strives for continuous improvement.

  • Report to senior management on performance, challenges, and team development, providing feedback and recommendations to improve processes and outcomes.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven leadership potential, with previous experience in a supervisory or team-leading role in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of structured systems and processes, with the ability to implement them effectively within an evolving business.

  • Experience working in or managing a diverse team, including both seasoned staff and newer apprentices, with a focus on mentoring and development.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide others through change.

  • A hands-on approach to managing day-to-day operations while ensuring a focus on safety and efficiency.

  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment and contribute to the company's growth by bringing new ideas and energy to the team.
