They are very highly regarded within their specialist niche of the industry and work closely with customers to deliver exceptional service and efficiency. As they continue to expand they are now looking for a dynamic Head of Operations to lead, inspire, and develop operational teams whilst looking for opportunities to drive operational efficiencies and continuously improve.Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting directly into the CEO, you will take ownership of day to day performance of freight and logistics operations and play a key role in shaping how the business works.
• Place a key focus on working with the operational team to maximise their engagement, development and performance.
• Identify areas in which people can be further developed through mentoring, training and development.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction and service improvement to fulfil and exceed customers logistics requirements.
• Develop and implement KPIs to measure operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
• Collaborate with other business areas to ensure seamless end to end service delivery.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards.

• Possess a detailed background of experience in operational management roles in the freight, road transport and / or logistics industries. This would manifest itself in an understanding of road transport, freight forwarding and customs processes.
• A track record of successfully engaging and developing operational teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and a data-driven approach to decision making.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage equally effectively externally with customers and internally with teams and senior management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• The ability to work in an agile SME business environment and take accountability for key decisions independently.
• Used to working a fast-paced, change-driven organisation.
• Used to working with relevant digital tools to improve reporting and operations.
