Reed have partnered with an exciting client based in Yatton, North Somerset. Recruiting for a Production Planner, on a full time permanent basis.

This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth planning and scheduling of work across various production departments. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, planning, organising, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and forward-thinking approach to monitor progress, coordinate workflow, and minimise delivery delays.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Control and organise the flow of materials into production areas.
  • Plan capacity in terms of forecasting, labour, resources, and machinery.
  • Organise and plan sales orders to ensure efficient production.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as updating manufacturing order dates and expediting orders as required.
  • Liaise with sales, purchasing, production, and warehouse departments to update on changes and monitor stock availability.
  • Monitor internal and external rejects to control volume and reduce impact.
  • Maintain company documentation and develop processes and procedures.
  • Propose and suggest changes to improve production flow and capability.
  • Report on KPIs such as on-time production, reworks, output, and labour efficiency.
  • Ensure on-time delivery performance and develop internal systems for continual improvement.
  • Produce and update working guides for the role and provide cover for other Production Planners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.
  • A data-driven approach with a strong understanding of Excel.
  • Ability to plan ahead and anticipate and overcome problems.
  • Experience in compiling detailed working schedules.
  • Strong liaison skills with the ability to influence other departments.
  • Planning and analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Quick decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to embrace and adapt to change.
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with good time management and a drive for continuous improvement.
