An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Repair Design Engineer dealing within wing repairs in Filton. The Repair Design Engineer will be responsible for Authoring, Leading and executing repair tasks within a small team. The individual is subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake the related work.
As a Repair Engineer, your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
? Evaluate daily customer requests regarding structural damage on in-service aircraft.
? Describe all the actions needed to repair aircraft via Structural Repair Instructions.
? Providing Structural Repair Support: Leveraging experience and technical expertise to address complex structural repair matters. This includes devising innovative solutions for both minor and major repairs requested by customers ensuring high standards of safety and reliability.
? Utilizing a deep understanding of historical damage and repair scenarios to investigate and identify the existence of similar previous cases. This ensures the provision of consistent, well-informed support and enhances the efficiency of problem resolution processes.
? Customer and Stakeholder Liaison: Employing communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external customers & stakeholders.
? Development of Generic Repair Procedures: Assist in creating and refining generic repair procedures based on an in-depth knowledge of recurring structural issues. These procedures are designed to streamline repair processes, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall operational efficiency of the Airbus fleet.
? Provide customers with highly efficient and timely structural repair and engineering services, informed by a thorough understanding of fleet operations and structural integrity requirements.
? Design Organization Engagement: Actively participating in Design Organization activities by preparing and releasing critical approval documents ensuring that all structural repairs meet stringent regulatory and safety standards.
About you
? Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in aircraft structures (preferably Airbus structures).
o Expertise in aircraft structural repair principles (both metallic and composite).
o In-depth knowledge of metallic and composite materials.
o Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods.
o Knowledge of Airbus drawings & Specifications is a plus.
o Desirable: has or does hold RTE1, RTE2 or RTE3 delegation
o Desirable: A400M experience
? Language Skills:
o Proficiency in English
? IT Skills:
o Proficient in Microsoft Office.
o Familiarity with Airbus IT tools is advantageous.
? Soft Skills:
o Autonomous and rigorous with strong organizational skills.
