Plant Manager – Energy from Waste

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol
Salary: Up to £95,000 per annum

The Opportunity

As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art Energy from Waste facility in the Avonmouth area. This high-impact leadership position will give you the autonomy to shape performance outcomes and build on a strong safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the site team
  • Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with all legislative and internal policies
  • Manage the site's Profit & Loss, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost control
  • Maximise plant reliability, efficiency, and availability through structured asset management
  • Drive continuous improvement across operations, maintenance, and compliance
  • Ensure delivery of key performance targets, both operational and financial
  • Develop and mentor high-performing teams, fostering collaboration across departments

Requirements:

  • Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, technical industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of power generation, EfW, biomass, waste, or petrochemical operations
  • Ability to manage large teams and influence across multiple stakeholders
  • Sound understanding of site-level budgeting, reporting, and cost optimisation
  • A solid technical understanding of plant maintenance, engineering systems, and safety standards
  • A strong focus on performance, people development, and operational excellence
