Plant Manager – Energy from Waste
Location: Avonmouth, Bristol
Salary: Up to £95,000 per annum

This is a unique opportunity to join a market-leading organisation as a Plant Manager, where you will take full ownership of site performance, lead a multidisciplinary team, and help deliver high levels of efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
The Opportunity
As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art Energy from Waste facility in the Avonmouth area. This high-impact leadership position will give you the autonomy to shape performance outcomes and build on a strong safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the site team
- Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with all legislative and internal policies
- Manage the site's Profit & Loss, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost control
- Maximise plant reliability, efficiency, and availability through structured asset management
- Drive continuous improvement across operations, maintenance, and compliance
- Ensure delivery of key performance targets, both operational and financial
- Develop and mentor high-performing teams, fostering collaboration across departments
Requirements:
- Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, technical industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of power generation, EfW, biomass, waste, or petrochemical operations
- Ability to manage large teams and influence across multiple stakeholders
- Sound understanding of site-level budgeting, reporting, and cost optimisation
- A solid technical understanding of plant maintenance, engineering systems, and safety standards
- A strong focus on performance, people development, and operational excellence
