What You Will Do:

  • Lead a team of skilled design engineers and CAD technicians, fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth.
  • Oversee the development and updating of company design standards and manage the design process efficiently.
  • Design HV substations ranging from 11 kV to 132 kV, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Produce comprehensive design packages for DNO contestable works and electrical balance of plant works.
  • Conduct and manage simulation studies to ensure compliance with Engineering Recommendations, the Distribution Code, and the Grid Code.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, projecting a professional image and building strong relationships.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience in high voltage electrical engineering design (11 kV and above), preferably at the EHV level (66 & 132 kV).
  • A 2.1 Degree in Electrical Engineering. A higher degree or postgraduate qualification in power systems is advantageous.
  • Working towards or have obtained professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level.
  • Exceptional technical knowledge with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of justifying design decisions and writing clear, concise reports.
