Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £45,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Split shift - one week 07:00-16:00, the next week 09:00-18:00
Call-Out: 1 in 4 (moving to 1 in 3)
Overtime: Paid at 1.3x on Saturdays, 1.8x on Sundays
We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 qualified Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established maintenance team at a prestigious site near St Paul's.
Key Requirements:
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services

- Strong mechanical maintenance background
- Experience working in commercial building environments
- Willingness to participate in a call-out rota and occasional overtime
- Reporting to the Contract Manager you will be working within the engineering maintenance team. You will provide all round engineering support maintaining the buildings infrastructures. You will have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and complying with the Health & Safety/building codes of practice.Â
With the nature of our client’s business and continued up time being a priority, means essential maintenance may need to be carried outside of normal hours and therefore a flexible approach to work is essential.Â
Key Responsibilities
• Issue relevant site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work
• Completion of PPM and reactive tasks for their respective shift team
• Identification of materials required to be ordered in a timely manner and completion of the internal Materials Request Form (MRF1)
• Maintain effective shift handovers
o including critical plant status, plant isolations, issues arising, ongoing works, special task requests, standard of housekeeping
o ensure that the shift log is accurately completed by the end of their shift and paperwork is filled in correctly and kept up to date
• Timely implementation and recording of statutory inspections including accurate recording annual plant inspections
• Control of 3rd party contractors including monitoring of work performance and standards, including internal auditing where applicable in conjunction with the Shift Leader
• AC, DC single phase and three phase Motors/Pumps
• AHU`s
• Plumbing
• A/C Plant
• Water treatment PlantÂ
