Required Qualifications
- BSc/MSc/MEng level qualification in engineering or science discipline or the equivalent aerospace or marine industry experience
- Excellent understanding of Lloyds Register Naval Ship Rules (NSR) 2020, as applied to warships and their powerplants.
- Good understanding of technical databases and design documentation, including technical drawings. This includes data manipulation in complex databases, writing technical reports and creation of drawings.
- Good understanding of the requirements for export control and intellectual property control when transferring design data across company and geographical boundaries.
- Candidates are required to be computer literate in MS Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet browsers. MS Teams experience would also be useful.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To Identify and review the Inspection and Test Plans for the powerplant
- Compile Lloyds Strategy Document based on an existing previous strategy
- Define communication channels for Lloyds Certification to OEMs Build Lines, Purchasing, Design Approval Documentation
- Plan and lead activities to certify powerplant programmes against the relevant Lloyds Register requirements
- Define and optimise certification strategies with the relevant stakeholders, including the OEMs suppliers, customers, and the Lloyds Register offices
- Assess new and existing substantiation created by the OEM with a view to obtaining Drawing Approval Documents (DAD) for all programme design data
- Liaise directly with Lloyds Register to ensure a plan is mutually agreed and followed through to design certification.
- Facilitate the definition and agreement of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) between the suppliers and the applicable in-country representation of Lloyds Register
- Actively identify and explore opportunities to minimise the effort required to achieve certification whilst maintaining full compliance
- Identify and escalate risks associated with possible non-compliances, costs overruns, and/or non-adherence to timescales associated with certification
- Provide feedback to the customer for continuous improvement
