Job Title: Quality Inspector - Aerospace (Manual Inspection)

Location: South West UK (On-site)

Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 + benefits

TEC Partners are working with a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturer based in the South West who are expanding their Quality department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a business that takes pride in precision, innovation, and excellence in aerospace component manufacturing.

You'll be joining a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety. The role is heavily focused on manual inspection, playing a crucial part in ensuring all aerospace components meet stringent tolerances, customer specifications, and industry regulations.

The Role:

  • Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined aerospace components.
  • Use a wide range of manual inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges, shadowgraphs, height gauges, etc.) to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Operate CMMs for measurement and inspection tasks when required.
  • Interpret and work confidently from engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
  • Record inspection data accurately, ensuring complete documentation traceability.
  • Support the generation and review of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production staff to identify and resolve quality issues at source.

What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within aerospace, precision engineering, or another high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with manual inspection tools and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to operate CMMs (basic programming knowledge advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerancing (GD&T), and technical standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a genuine commitment to maintaining quality excellence.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Background in the aerospace or defence sectors.
  • Familiarity with FAIR processes and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Formal apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in mechanical or precision engineering.

Hours & Benefits:

  • 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 07:30-16:00, Fri 07:30-12:30)
