Bennett & Game are working with an award-winning environmental consultancy, recognised with a Silver Award for Best Place to Work at the 2025 Consultancy Awards. The business specialises in ecology, arboriculture, flood risk and habitats and is now seeking a Project Manager to drive delivery across residential development and land-promotion schemes.

This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of scope, programme and budget while coordinating technical teams to deliver high-quality outputs for planning.

You will be joining a consultancy in growth mode with a brand-new Bristol office opening in the coming weeks. Stepping in early gives you the opportunity to help shape the new team and influence ways of working from the outset. With a strong residential and strategic land pipeline, you will work closely with ecologists, arboriculturists and water specialists to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and to the required standard. Hybrid working and flexible hours are available.



Project Manager Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: 35,000-40,000 DOE
  • 26 days' annual leave including 1 day in your birthday week and 3 days between Christmas and New Year

Project Manager Job Overview

  • Lead delivery of residential and land-promotion projects, ensuring programmes, deliverables, budgets and quality standards are met
  • Act as primary client liaison, providing updates, managing change requests and ensuring contract compliance
  • Oversee project lifecycle: resource scheduling, site access, RAMS preparation, survey coordination and QA
  • Manage budgets and forecasts, flagging risks early and resolving overspend through change control
  • Maintain CMAP (or similar) for scheduling, invoicing, billing and progress tracking
  • Brief and coordinate technical teams, chair internal progress meetings, and ensure deliverables are up to date
  • Mentor a Deputy PM and assign Technical Leads as required
  • Support business development by preparing fee proposals, securing funding for scope changes, and managing follow-on opportunities


Project Manager Job Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in project management or Project Coordination within an environmental or engineering consultancy
  • Proven track record delivering residential or land-promotion schemes, with strong knowledge of planning processes (ideal but not a must)
  • Experience coordinating ecology surveys, BS5837 tree work and water environment inputs (FRA, SuDS, etc.)
  • Strong commercial control: budgets, invoicing, change management and fee proposals
  • Proficient with CMAP or similar PM/ERP systems, with experience using report registers and GIS trackers
  • Nextweek software knowledge advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills with the ability to mentor junior staff
  • Highly organised, with attention to QA, RAMS and on-time project delivery
