Salary: £67,313 - £74,406 per annum (In addition to the base salary a Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA) allowance of £4000 per annum is available for holders of Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS)

The Role

They are seeking an experienced commercial practitioner. This senior role is a unique opportunity to join the commercial leadership team. The team manages third-party delivery, providing services to over 4000 staff with a total contract portfolio value of £1,007 million.

This role will support the organisation to achieve its objectives by enabling effective, value for money delivery of arrangements with third parties, delivering better outcomes through best use of commercial partnering and third-party supplier delivery opportunities.

The commercial team is organised in a category management model to support the department’s strategic objectives through the support of an end-to-end commercial cycle encompassing pre procurement/define, procurement and contract management support.

This role is to lead the following commercial categories:

  • Digital and Technology Services
  • Theory Test Services

These categories procure digital resources, IT infrastructure, software, hardware, digital managed services and Theory Test services.  

  • Commercial MI and Data, ensuring that commercial MI and Data is accurate and a valued asset to the organisation you will own, deliver and continuously improve the Commercial MI and Data Strategy.

Skills and Qualifications

  • They are looking for someone who is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent. 
  • You will have significant experience in a senior commercial role leading a commercial team.
  • You work creatively in a dynamic commercial environment.
  • You will have prior experience and knowledge with the application of commercial cycle.
  • You will use your broad and deep commercial knowledge to deliver best commercial outcomes.
  • You will have experience of public sector procurement.
  • You will have exemplary stakeholder engagement and management skills.
