Are you an experienced Estimator with a proven track record in civil engineering? A leading Tier One Contractor is seeking a talented Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team. Based in Bristol, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and competitive tenders for major water infrastructure projects across the Wessex Water and South West Water regions.
The Role
As a Senior Estimator, you'll take ownership of the estimation process for complex and high-value civil engineering projects. You will provide leadership, drive tender strategies, and ensure the delivery of winning bids that align with the company's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
路Lead the preparation of cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
路Analyse tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contracts, to determine project requirements.
路Engage with supply chain partners and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and support.
路Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and potential cost savings.
路Chair pre-tender meetings and contribute to strategic bid planning.
路Manage tender documentation and ensure compliance with client requirements and company policies.
路Present finalised tenders to senior leadership, clearly articulating project scope and cost breakdowns.
路Mentor and support junior team members, sharing expertise to develop the team's capabilities.
About You
We're looking for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of civil engineering and estimating practices, coupled with strong commercial acumen and leadership abilities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
路Proven experience as an Estimator in civil engineering, with a track record of delivering winning tenders.
路Strong understanding of NEC contracts and tendering processes.
路Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or similar).
路Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
路HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
路Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Desirable Experience:
路Experience working on water infrastructure projects.
路Familiarity with regional supply chains and subcontractors.
