Job Description:Hays Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a primary or secondary school student in Bristol. This is a part-time position, with morning hours only, providing tailored support to an individual student. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will help the students with their learning and development, fostering a positive, supportive environment that meets their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student, helping them with their academic tasks and personal development.
  • Assist the student with specific learning difficulties or special educational needs (SEN), ensuring their full participation in class activities.
  • Support the students in their emotional, social, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
  • Liaise with teachers to ensure the student's progress and well-being are monitored and supported.
  • Assist with in-class activities and provide additional help where required.
  • Help prepare resources and materials to support the student's learning experience.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting or with children who have additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with a focus on student well-being and academic progress.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Hays can assist with this if needed).
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience is desirable but not essential.
