This School in the BS32 area is looking for a HLTA to join their team as soon as possible.

The Role

A Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in a primary school supports teaching and learning across the curriculum by leading small group activities, covering classes when needed, and working closely with teachers to plan and deliver lessons. They play a key role in helping pupils make progress, providing targeted support to individuals or groups, and contributing to assessment and classroom management. HLTAs bring valuable experience and initiative to ensure high-quality learning experiences for all pupils.

You will be required to to work on a full time basis until the end of the academic year with the potential to continue in September

You will be expected to:

  • Support teaching and learning across all key stages within the primary setting.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons or interventions under the guidance of a teacher.

  • Cover whole classes during teacher absence or planning time (PPA).

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, including those with SEN.

  • Assist with the assessment of pupils’ progress and contribute to record-keeping.

  • Support classroom management and promote positive behaviour.

  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to enhance learning opportunities.

  • Contribute to the development of learning materials and classroom displays.

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
