Secondary Teaching Assistant - Knowle, Bristol

Do you want to help students overcome barriers to learning and realise their full potential? We are currently recruiting for proactive, empathetic and passionate Teaching Assistants to work in a mainstream secondary school in South Bristol with a high number of SEND pupils.

This is an incredible opportunity to work in a collaborative team alongside a dedicated Speech and Language specialist, ELSA practitioner and specialist TA's in literacy and numeracy.

• 90 - 125 per day, depending on experience
• Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
• Term time only
• Bristol - BS14. Easily accessible by public transport!

About the Secondary Teaching Assistant role

• Provide extra support to key stage 3 students with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.
• Working under the direction of teaching staff to deliver and adapt learning activities for pupils one to one or in small groups
• Supervise pupils during break periods
• Build positive relationships with students to promote their academic success and emotional well-being
• Encourage students to develop self-confidence, resilience, and independence

The right candidate

• Maths and English GCSE (Grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent
• Extensive prior experience within an education establishment as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, unqualified teacher etc
• Possess good behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
• Be confident with ICT skills, particularly Microsoft packages
