Gateman

We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Gateman to join the team on a prestigious 55 million student accommodation development in Bristol. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and organised site entrance, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, and assisting in general site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Control access to the site for all personnel, deliveries, and visitors
• Sign in/out site operatives and visitors in line with site protocol
• Monitor deliveries and direct vehicles safely in and out of the site
• Conduct vehicle and pedestrian traffic management at the entrance gate
• Ensure all visitors and operatives comply with site health & safety requirements
• Maintain accurate gate logs and records
• Carry out regular perimeter and gate checks
• Report any security or safety concerns to the Site Manager
• Assist with keeping site entrances and walkways clear and safe
• Provide a professional and courteous first point of contact for anyone arriving on site

Requirements

• CSCS Card (valid)
• Traffic Marshal / Banksman ticket (preferred)
• Previous experience as a gateman on large-scale construction projects
• Strong understanding of site safety and security procedures
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively
• High level of reliability and professionalism
• PPE required: hard hat, hi-vis, safety boots

Desirable

• First Aid qualification
• SIA Licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Familiarity with student accommodation or residential builds
