I have a brand  new role for a fully remote (applicants need to be UK based) , part-time Software Test Engineer to join my client working 3 days a week. You’ll have the freedom to structure your hours in a way that suits your lifestyle, whether that means working half days, full days  or fitting your schedule around school runs or other commitments. They are offering a salary of £24,000 for the 3 days a week. The company are at the early stages of bringing the development of their software in house for the first time. As a result, they are now looking for their first dedicated Software Test Engineer to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a environment where you can make a real impact from day one. The existing code base has seen very limited testing to date, so your role will be crucial in identifying and addressing bugs, as well as laying the groundwork for best practices in testing and QA.Your core responsibilities initially  will involve stabilising the existing software, identifying and tracking bugs, and working side by side with their  developer to improve code quality and user experience. Initially they see the role as very manual focused but they are open to automation further down the line. The company has also recently brought in a Business Analyst to help with requirements gathering and user insight, and you’ll work closely with them to understand the product's current gaps and future needs. You’ll also be encouraged to engage directly with end users, to investigate issues, document bugs, and hunt down problems that haven’t even been flagged yet.I’m  looking for someone with previous experience in software testing who is looking for a part time role and is comfortable working independently, especially in a remote setup, and capable of taking initiative in a relatively unstructured environment. Familiarity with testing and bug tracking tools such as Jira etc is desirable, along with strong attention to detail and good communication skills. If you’d like to hear more please apply to Sam Miller at SR2 – Socially Responsible Recruitment
