I'm working on behalf of an incredibly well respected special school that have a primary setting situated in Brislington. All students at the school have some form of Autism and all have EHCP's.
The school have gone through a number of exciting changes recently so it is a fantastic time to be joining them. The needs of the students will be varied but many of these students will have complex autism.
The role
The school have a couple of different opportunities at the moment, these opportunities are all full-time/long term - it is essential that this is what you are looking for as the students require this consistency.
The role of Primary SEN Teaching Assistant is all about being proactive. You must want to get heavily involved in all aspects of school life and proactively seek out ways to support students inside and outside of the classroom. It is is essential that you have had experience working with ASC/ASD, preferably within a school setting.
