Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Bristol to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Resource Provision Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing, specialist environment.

Your New Role

As a Teaching Assistant within the school's Resource Provision Unit, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other specialists to implement tailored education and behaviour plans.
  • Help create a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support with personal care needs where necessary (training will be provided if required).

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, either in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • A patient, resilient, and flexible attitude.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2 or 3 (in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential.
