Special needs teaching assistants, full time and part time options available

Zen Educate are looking for a range of special needs teaching assistants to take on either long term or short term contract work for specialist schools in Bristol and the wider area. Much of this work would be supporting students on a 1:1 basis and students will come with a diverse range of needs, these can include autism, MLD, SLD, SEMH, PMLD and more.

We are interested in people that have experience with special needs, this can be from working in a school before or it can be via a different method of work, such as care, youth work or social work. Whilst most students would not need personal care, there will be some placements that may require it, so being open to this would be desirable. What would be essential is being able to manage behaviours that may be associated with children's diagnosis, so lots of empathy and patience is required.

Whilst drivers would be great, this is not essential and would happily take anyone that needs to use public transport. Zen Educate are looking for people that are consistent and able to commit to what they take on, as these children can find change difficult as will the schools they attend as well, so reliability is key!

In order to work with children a enhanced DBS on the update service is required, either one you already have or if you would be happy to apply for a new one.

So whether you are looking for 2 days or 5 days, get in touch and see what we can do for you.
