Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs across a range of needs and age groups. This flexible, hands-on role is ideal for anyone looking to build experience in education or begin a career working with children with SEND.

You will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils engage with learning in a way that suits their needs.

• Assist classroom teachers with activities, resources and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

• Support pupils with personal care and daily routines where required.

• Adapt smoothly to different classes and settings, building positive relationships with staff and pupils.

Every day brings variety, new skills, and the chance to make a meaningful difference.

You don’t need previous school experience to apply - just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

We’re looking for:

• A patient, caring and flexible approach.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

• Experience supporting children or young people (formal or informal - e.g., babysitting, youth work, tutoring, coaching).

• Willingness to assist with personal care when needed.

• A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs achieve their best.

• An enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

Experience in education or SEND settings is a bonus, but not essential.
