HLTA / Instructor / Qualified Teacher – 1:1 Support for Y7 Pupil (ASD & SEMH Needs)

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Bristol is looking to appoint a HLTA, Instructor or Qualified Teacher (PGCE)to work 1:1 with a Year 7 pupilwho has an EHCP outlining specific support for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:

• Provide consistent, structured 1:1 support throughout the school day

• Help the pupil access learning and achieve the outcomes set out in their EHCP

• Work closely with the school’s SENDCO and SEND Manager to deliver tailored interventions and strategies

• Support the pupil’s emotional regulation, social interaction, and well-being

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A HLTA qualification, PGCE, or equivalent teaching/instructional experience

• Experience working with pupils with ASD and SEMH needs

• A calm, nurturing and flexible approach to supporting learning

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Start Date & Duration:

• The role is due to start in four weeks’ time

• It will run for this academic year and the next academic year

• There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate
