About the role

A Special Needs and Autism resource base in South Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support a small group of students who have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) in place.

This wonderful resource base has its own therapy room, sensory room, bespoke outdoor provision and two well-equipped classrooms. Pupils have access to a high quality curriculum which has been adapted from the national curriculum.

Day to day duties for this role will include;

  • Working in partnership with the resource base team to support the children

  • Supporting the children with academic work both within the resource base and during classroom time

  • Providing regular social and emotional support to the children

  • Promoting positive behaviour and managing behaviour effectively

This is a temporary position beginning at the start of Term 6.

About you

This challenging yet incredibly rewarding opportunity would be perfect for an individual who enjoys supporting children, particularly those with complex needs. The ideal candidate would be calm and caring, patient and demonstrate strong resilience. A teaching assistant qualification or extensive experience of supporting children with children with complex additional needs would be advantageous but not essential.
