Network & Telephony Support Engineer

An experienced Voice & Data Networks Engineer is required to cover for a staff member currently on leave. This is a short-term role, working in a tight-knit, professional team of five. Immediate start available following interview and background checks.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintain and support voice and data networks, telephony systems, and related infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and resolve incidents to meet service levels
  • Monitor network performance and escalate issues when needed
  • Configure network/Teams comms kit (multi-vendor environment)
  • Document changes and support BAU operations
  • Liaise with internal IT teams and external suppliers
  • Handle tickets from the call management system to SLA deadlines
  • Travel between sites as required

What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience with enterprise-level network and telephony infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for voice/data connectivity and hardware issues
  • Hands-on experience with system upgrades and backup/recovery practices
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and working in a public sector IT environment
  • Ability to follow procedures and technical standards (ideally NCSC aligned)
  • Confident communicator with both IT and non-IT staff
  • Must be able to hit the ground running - no time for hand-holding
