Mobile Gardener

Resourcing Group are recruiting for a Mobile Gardener or Grounds Maintenance Operative to cover a new care home grounds maintenance contract across Bath, Bristol, Newport and Cardiff on a temp-to-perm basis for a regional landscaping service provider .

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener or Grounds Maintenance Worker to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of our outdoor spaces in care homes and commercial spaces. This role requires a hands-on approach to landscape maintenance, including gardening, irrigation, and general groundskeeping tasks. A strong knowledge and proficiency with both hand and power tools are essential for success in this position.

Job title: Grounds Maintenance Operative
Type: Full-time, initially 12 week temp-to-perm
Location: Covering sites from Cardiff, Bristol, Bath and surrounding areas.
Salary: From 27,000 to 29,120 Per Annum with Van.

Duties

• Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas by mowing, trimming, and weeding.
• Dig and prepare soil for planting flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and hoes to assist in various gardening tasks.
• Utilise power tools including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers for efficient maintenance.
• Build and repair garden structures such as fences and raised beds as needed.
• Irrigate plants effectively to ensure healthy growth and sustainability.
• Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention or improvement.
• Collaborate with team members to complete landscaping projects in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in grounds keeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
• A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of maintenance are met consistently.
• Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
