With a growing portfolio of high-profile, vision-led development projects - including major Garden Villages, New Towns and sustainable urban expansions - this respected practice is now looking for a senior-level Transport Planner to join their thriving Bristol team.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to lead the delivery of multi-scale projects, predominantly in the private sector, but also working closely with public sector clients. The role will see you managing a wide range of commissions with a particular focus on creating people-centred, active travel-friendly, and sustainable transport strategies.
Working collaboratively with architects, masterplanners and wider project teams, you will drive innovation and ensure the seamless integration of transport solutions that truly enhance place.
You'll be managing projects end-to-end - from early feasibility and access studies to preparing high-quality technical outputs - while mentoring junior staff, engaging with stakeholders, and contributing to business growth through bidding and client development.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a Transport Planner with:
- Significant experience producing Transport Assessments, Statements, Environmental Statement chapters and Travel Plans
- Experience with access feasibility and early site appraisals
- Strong knowledge of planning policy and design guidance (e.g. Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20)
- An excellent understanding of the English planning process
- Confidence in client communication and stakeholder engagement
- Project management skills, including financial oversight and proposal writing
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members
- Proficiency with relevant industry software (e.g. Junctions 9, Linsig, AutoCAD, ArcGIS)
