Our client is hiring a skilled and proactive Vehicle Technician to join a team of dedicated technicians.
Technicians with expertise in either Lights , Commercial Vehicles or HGVs repair backgrounds will be considered for this role.
Operating from a Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU), well equipped workshops you will play a crucial role in ensuring the fleet remains roadworthy, compliant, and operational.
This includes performing routine inspections, repairs, servicing, and MOT preparation to maintain service standards and fleet reliability.

Monday to Friday
- Week 1 : 06:00 to 14:30
- Week 2 : 06:00 to 14:30 Â Â
- Week 3 : 08:00 to 16:30
- Week 4 : 13:30 to 22:00

Technicians joining this fleet team, will benefit from a range of training and upskilling initiatives such as multi-skilling to repair all variety of different fleet vehicles such as a lights technician will be fully trained to repair HGVs, Comprehensive Electric vehicle diagnostics training, forklift training/licencing, IRTEC renewal/upgrades and emergency/first aid training. Â Fully paid PPE, including overalls and steel toe capped boots.
Key Responsibilities
This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency of the company's substantial asset base, which includes a variety of HGVs, LCVs including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, this company are investing
•             Maintain and repair company vehicles and trailers, ensuring they meet legal compliance and safety standards.
•             Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing, inspections, and MOT preparation.
•             Monitor and resolve driver-reported defects, ensuring vehicles remain in a roadworthy condition.
•             Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and bodywork issues, replacing faulty components, as necessary.
•             Accurately record service and repair history in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
•             Ensure fleet vehicles are operational by following maintenance schedules, troubleshooting breakdowns, and managing inventory.
•             Work closely with the Transport team to ensure fleet availability meets operational needs, while minimising downtime to reduce disruptions to daily activities
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
•             Level 3 vehicle repair qualification or equivalent.
•             Proven experience within a busy vehicle workshop.
•             Full UK driving licence
•             Strong understanding of maintenance practices, health & safety regulations, and transport legislation.
•             Ability to prioritise tasks, work efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines.
•             Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
•             Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
•             Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
•             A confident negotiator with a proactive approach.
