Computing Lecturer (Level 2)

Location: Broadstairs
Contract Type: Temporary & Part-time
Hours: 18 contact hours per week (27 hours including planning)
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Computing Lecturer to deliver engaging and effective teaching on our Level 2 Computing programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering units including Spreadsheets, Databases, and The Online World, exploring how computing is applied in everyday life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the Level 2 Computing curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons and assignments to support student success.
  • Create engaging learning materials and resources to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Support learners through feedback, tutorials, and academic guidance.
  • Contribute to course development and continuous improvement within the computing department.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Spreadsheets, Databases, and Online World concepts.
  • Proven experience in teaching, ideally within a further education or similar setting.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their potential.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification in Computing (or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is desirable.

Schedule and Commitment

  • 18 contact hours per week (plus preparation and assessment time, totalling approximately 27 hours per week).
  • Teaching days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and ideally you will be on the update service, however we will cover the cost of a new DBS if this is not the case.
