The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behaviour Mentor to join our team. This vital role focuses on supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges, helping them to engage positively in their learning and school community.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour support plans, foster resilience, and encourage positive choices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group mentoring support tailored to students' individual needs.
  • Develop and implement behaviour intervention strategies to support positive outcomes.
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress and behaviour incidents.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies to coordinate support.
  • Promote positive relationships and build trust with students, encouraging social and emotional growth.
  • Support transitions, including reintegration following exclusions or challenging periods.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a SEN or behavioural support context.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to work effectively with complex needs.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in mentoring, counselling, or behavioural support (desirable but not essential).
