We are seeking a Director of English and Maths to take a strategic lead in the development and delivery of English and maths across all campuses. This role involves ensuring innovative and cost-effective models of delivery that promote high levels of student success and positive destinations. The ideal candidate will provide inspirational leadership, improving teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure a high-quality student experience and outstanding outcomes.
Day-to-day of the role:- Strategically lead the development of English and maths, ensuring alignment with local and regional employment needs and strong stakeholder links.
- Manage cross-site teams, ensuring effective deployment of resources and achievement of KPIs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational developments affecting the college and implement necessary actions.
- Ensure compliance with all college data, reporting, and procedural requirements.
- Develop and manage a curriculum that incorporates commercial income, Advanced Learning Loans, and Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.
- Lead on quality improvement within the area, setting high standards and managing performance through the College Performance Management Framework.
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed).
- Management qualification preferred.
- Proven experience in educational management or a relevant industrial background.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, staff deployment, and budget management.
- Experience in implementing quality improvement processes that lead to measurable improvements in student success.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong IT skills.
