Role Overview

As the school's SENCO, you will play a key role in shaping, coordinating, and delivering high-quality SEN provision. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, external professionals, and families to ensure students receive targeted interventions and personalised plans that enable success.



Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all SEN provision across the school

  • Lead on EHCP reviews, referrals, and assessment processes

  • Provide expert guidance and training to teaching and support staff

  • Develop tailored interventions and monitor student progress

  • Liaise with external agencies, therapists, and local authority professionals

  • Ensure statutory responsibilities around SEND compliance are fully met

  • Support whole-school strategy for inclusion, wellbeing, and behaviour



Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • National SENCO Award (or willingness to work towards it)

  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes

  • Experience supporting learners with SEN, ideally including SEMH and ASD
