Apricus Resourcing are working with a leading charitable provider who are looking to hire a Floating Support Worker to work across the Crystal Palace / Bromley areas.

The manager is looking for candidates who have a passion for Mental Health roles, you will need to be able to defuse situations around emotional outbursts. You will be working with younger men aged 18+ and as a result will need to be aware of what young people encounter on the street. There may also be times when you are required to lead a team.

The role is based within a servuce that provides accommodation-based support for men in Bromley with experience of the criminal justice system, who are at risk of homelessness.

The service focuses on recovery, rehabilitation and preventing re-offending. The main aim is to reduce service users' isolation and to encourage independence.

Service users come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances. The service works closely with multiple agencies (probation officers, housing and benefits services) and provides trauma and resilience-informed support around an individual's specific needs.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working in a mental health setting, ideally with younger males

  • Ability to work in a busy team setting

  • Positive can do attitude

  • Experience in crisis situations e.g. applying de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.

The role available is based on a rolling full time, contract basis paying 16.22 umbrella per hour - this will more than likely be extended into the future and may even result in a permanent post.
