About the Role
Academics are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in a specialist provision in Bromley, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and group support to help students access the curriculum, engage in learning, and develop confidence and resilience in a structured, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with SEMH needs in accessing academic lessons

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to deliver tailored learning activities

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation in line with provision policies

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students

  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report as required

Essential Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs

  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies

  • Ability to motivate, engage and encourage students in learning

  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach
