Overview:

One of my local government clients is lookingfor an experienced Business Support Officer to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Service at Bromley Council on a 6-month temporary contract. This role supports the delivery of statutory responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act and provides essential administrative support to the DoLS team.

Working within a hybrid model (minimum two days in the office), this position is ideal for a candidate with previous experience supporting a DoLS service and confidence in managing administrative processes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience within a local authority or council is essential.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the DoLS service.

  • Process referrals related to Deprivation of Liberty applications.

  • Liaise with professionals and external agencies to coordinate and progress applications.

  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with GDPR and local procedures.

  • Use relevant systems including Liquid Logic and Iproc Fusion to manage data and process invoices.

  • Support the team in delivering a high-quality, efficient and customer-focused service.

  • Handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant DoLS legislation and safeguarding standards.

Essential Skills and Experience:

To be shortlisted, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working within a DoLS service or similar health and social care setting.

  • Basic understanding of DoLS legislation and its application.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).

  • Proficiency in using Iproc Fusion for invoice processing.

  • Experience using Liquid Logic case management system.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in line with GDPR.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and clear communication style.
