About the Business

An opportunity to be a Management Accountant for a Consultancy business based in Bromsgrove. They are looking for a self-sufficient candidate with a good understanding of the month and year-end process, who is confident being in a varied role. Role Responsibilities:

As the Management Accountant, your primary objectives will include:

  • Production and day-to-day management of the Parkwood Project Management company accounts.
  • Production and day-to-day management of five SPV project company accounts.
  • Proactive management of the SPV financial project models, ensuring all financial project deadlines are met, and identifying future risks and opportunities.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Having full accountability for PPM/SPV accounts and being responsible for accurate and timely financial data, analysis, and information, including that required for Board meetings.
  • Being responsible for all transactional processing on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring adequate controls are in place to ensure ledgers are accurate at all times and cashflow is maximised.
  • Presenting all financial information at quarterly SPV board meetings.
  • Ensuring adequate control over Working Capital, including transmission of supplier and other payments within agreed authority limits, adhering to strict processes and deadlines for the SPV companies.
  • Preparing regular year-end cash flow forecasts as appropriate for the business.
  • Liaising with Project Managers and the Senior Management team to ensure accounts are complete and forecasts are reasonable.
  • Liaising with funders, their advisers and Project Company advisers, fulfilling contractual obligations and responding to queries.
  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring adequate controls are in place for good accounting practice and data integrity.
  • Ensuring income and expenditure of the companies is predictable and without surprises.
  • Calculating and submitting VAT and CIS returns within required deadlines.
  • Producing contractual Management Fee Calculations.
  • Leading the annual audit process.
  • Reviewing statutory accounts and Corporation tax returns.
  • Coordinating the annual budget process, to include P&L and cashflow budgeting.
  • Ensuring rigorous financial and other operating controls are implemented, documented and enforced, consistent with Financial Regulations.
  • Undertaking any other duties as may be required by the PPM directors.

Location / Office / Culture

The role is based at their modern office in Bromsgrove, with flexible hours. The company operate within a strong team of circa 20.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Familiar and comfortable with working independently and being self-sufficient.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including at senior level.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of managing accounting processes from transaction/ledger management through to management account process
  • IT proficient, with strong spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to process data accurately within deadlines
