Ergonomist Specialist

Location: Broughton (Onsite)
Contract Duration: Until 31/12/2026 (likely to be extended)
Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ergonomist Specialist to join a leading aerospace manufacturing team in Broughton. This role sits within the Manufacturing Engineering department and offers the chance to influence and drive change in an established wing production facility. The ergonomics team is small but highly influential, working closely with operations, design engineering, and health & safety to optimise human working conditions and improve overall system performance.



Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for conducting ergonomics work analysis of assembly and installation activities and providing recommendations to address any associated risk factors. The role involves developing and implementing ergonomic action plans aligned with industrial strategy and future evolutions, as well as contributing to specifications, tenders, and subcontractor management for ergonomics-related work packages. You will ensure ergonomic considerations are integrated into tooling and machine design, monitor regulatory and scientific developments, and maintain the tactical implementation plan for ergonomics at the site. Collaboration with health and safety representatives and support for transnational ergonomic initiatives will also be part of your remit.



What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or higher qualification in Ergonomics or Human Factors from an accredited institution and be working towards or hold registered membership with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent. You should have strong knowledge of physiology, cognitive sciences, applied psychology, and human factors, along with experience in identifying and mitigating ergonomic risks in industrial environments. Effective communication skills, the ability to influence in an engineering setting, and an innovative mindset with strong analytical and project management skills are essential. Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment is desirable.
