My client is seeking a compassionate and strategic HR Manager to support their growing team. This standalone role requires a proactive leader with experience in safer recruitment within a Children’s Services environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

Compliance and Policy

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and health and safety guidelines.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with best practices and organisational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
  • Manage HR-related paperwork and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Recruitment and Selection

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job descriptions, advertising, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Ensure all pre-employment checks are completed and compliant, including enhanced DBS certificates.
  • Develop strategies to attract and retain talent.

Training and Development

  • Maintain and track the staff training matrix, ensuring all staff are up to date with relevant training.
  • Ensure staff have access to necessary training and resources.
  • Oversee the evaluation of learning and development activities.

HR Administration

  • Manage the administration of personnel records and documentation.
  • Maintain employee data on the HR system – Sage HR.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in safer recruitment, preferably within Children’s Services.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and open-minded.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a busy and ever-changing environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • CIPD Level 3 or above qualification is preferable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of employment law and best practices.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
