A well-regarded secondary school in Buckingham is seeking a passionate and skilled Humanities Teacher to join their department with an immediate start. This opportunity is ideal for teachers with a specialism in History, Geography, or a broader Humanities background who are eager to contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Humanities subjects

  • Plan and deliver lessons that promote enquiry, critical thinking, and active learning

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and targeted support

  • Establish and maintain a positive, well-managed learning environment

  • Support curriculum development and contribute to wider school life

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and an ability to deliver content effectively

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to inclusive practice and high standards of student achievement

Desirable

  • Experience with exam board specifications and assessments (e.g., AQA, Edexcel)

  • Willingness to contribute to enrichment or extra-curricular activities

  • Engagement with professional development and reflective practice
