Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our clients team in Buckingham. This hands-on role is ideal for a time-served mechanical engineer with experience in industrial maintenance who is looking to apply their skills in a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs

  • Diagnose faults and contribute to root-cause analysis to improve plant reliability

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, recommend spare parts and refurbishment plans

  • Work safely to permit-to-work systems and contribute to continuous improvement



Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Time-served, apprentice-trained mechanical engineer

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, mixers

  • Full UK Driving Licence

Personal Attributes

  • Strong fault-finding and practical problem-solving ability

  • Safety-conscious and methodical

  • Able to work under pressure and to production deadlines

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Willing to learn and develop technically

  • Comfortable working as a lone engineer
