We're working directly with a leading engineering consultancy based in Burgess Hill who are looking to add a Senior Section 278 Engineer to their growing infrastructure team.
The Role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of a varied pipeline of Section 278 works, with a focus on:
·Junction improvements
·Roundabout designs
·Pedestrian crossings
·General highway amendments for planning approvals
You'll play a key part in delivering highways schemes that interface with local authorities and national developers.
Team & Structure
·You'll join an established team of engineers and technicians, supporting the training and development of junior staff.
·Collaboration is a big part of the culture - knowledge-sharing and on-the-job mentoring are key here.
·You'll report directly to senior leadership and work closely with the project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
Working Pattern
·Office-based five days a week for the first 6 weeks for training and onboarding.
·After the initial period: Hybrid working - currently 3 days in the office, subject to change as the business moves toward a more collaborative in-office culture.
Your background
·Background in Section 278 design and delivery.
·Comfortable working on a range of highway infrastructure schemes.
·Proficient in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D desirable).
·Able to commute to Burgess Hill within ideally 45 minutes.
